6.5 Million for Injured Carpenter

Settlement for 35 year-old union carpenter who fell 30 feet off the top edge of the back wall of a house while landing on a truss bundle suspended from a crane. We sued the truss company that supplied the crane for not having the correct rigging and the general contractor/developer for not ensuring that the carpenter’s employer had an OSHA compliant fall protection plan or that the they were working off of a proper work support. This case settled during trial for more than five times what was offered prior to trial. We also obtained a complete waiver of the $1.66M workmen’s compensation lien bring the carpenter’s total recovery to $6.5M for a moderate TBI, fractured wrists, and a neck fusion surgery.
